Gerry Cutting is best known amongst English speakers in the Eastern Townships as President of Townshippers' Association. However, his active involvement as a volunteer includes a wide and impressive range of non-profit and community organizations, including museums. He was the secretary of the Science and Nature Museum in Sherbrooke for eight years, and is currently vice-president of the Beaulne Museum in Coaticook. In addition, Gerry serves on the Champlain College Foundation board, the Dixville Home Corporation, and he’s involved with fundraising for the Society for the Protection of Animals, as well as ProCure Quebec, a group that helps survivors of prostate cancer. Since 2015 he has served on the board of the Centre Integré Universitaire de Santé et de Services Sociaux de l’Estrie - Centre hospitalier - universitaire de Sherbrooke (CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS). In addition to his mandate to serve on the Finance Committee, he is also charged with the responsibility of representing the interests of the English-speaking community on this Board.

From 1972 until his retirement as Director General in 2008, Gerry enjoyed a career in education at the multi-campus Champlain Regional College, notably at the Lennoxville Campus and College Administration office in Sherbrooke.

He was recently honoured as one of the 2016 recipients of the prestigious Victor and Sheila Goldbloom Distinguished Community Service Award (QCGN).
