Desecration and Vandalism in Richmond

At some point during the night of Sunday last (March 20), vandals desecrated (actually, destroyed) the much revered statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that has graced the front yard of St. Bibiane's Roman Catholic Church in Richmond for generations.

Also targeted by vandals, although with less severe results, were Richmond's Celtic Cross and the local War Memorial.

All three acts were apparently committed during the same evening. Police are currently investigating these crimes, and are asking the assistance of the public to locate the perpetrators.
