It’s a lot easier to read the stories behind heritage sites in and around Sherbrooke, now that the Lennoxville-Ascot Historical & Museum Society (LAHMS) has completed work repairing and replacing seven bilingual historic interpretation panels.

Depicted here is the new LAHMS panel on display in the old mining village of Capelton. The historical society was one of 10 community groups to receive grants from the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network (QAHN) in 2020 through its Belonging & Identity program, which is supported by the Secretariat for Relations with Anglophone Quebecers.

This year QAHN is partnering with 11 groups in different regions of the province to protect and share community heritage.
