It was alongside representatives from Townshippers' Association and the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network (QAHN) that Minister-MP Marie-Claude Bibeau announced contributions from Official Languages Canada to two organizations of the linguistic minority community of the Eastern Townships. These contributions amount to more than $1.5 million over three years.

With $820 000 in funding, Townshippers' Association will be able to improve its programming and offer more social services in English, including those related to the fight against poverty and job opportunities for young Anglophones. ‘‘This funding will support our ongoing efforts in the region and enable us to continue to pursue our mission in support of the English-speaking community in the Eastern Townships” mentioned Don Warnholtz, President of Townshippers’ Association.

QAHN receives $613 500 in funding to continue its programming, the objective of which is to preserve and promote the history and heritage of the English-speaking community of Quebec, as well as $137,500 for its Digital Heritage Mentorship Program. "We are excited about our initiative which will enable us to work with heritage partners all across Quebec to build capacity to produce compelling online and hybrid programming" stated Matthew Farfan, Executive Director of QAHN.

Official Languages Canada helps promote and protect minority language communities across the country. “This funding will thus strengthen the vitality of the English-speaking community in the Eastern Townships and Quebec,” concludes the Hon. Marie-Claude Bibeau, MP for Compton-Stanstead and Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
