The Colours of the 60th Missisquoi Battalion Volunteer Militia of Canada, Eccles Hill, 1870.
Under the command of Lt-Col. Brown Chamberlain, the 60th Missisquoi Battalion helped to reinforce the Home Guard Red Sashes at Eccles Hill. The colours were in the possession of Colonel Arthur Gilmour who marched with the 60th Missisquoi Battalion at Eccles Hill in 1870. The colours were made and presented to the 60th Battalion by women of the community in recognition for their service. (Missisquoi Historical Society Collections)
