The Association of Gravestone Studies (AGS) has published a series of 18 field guides focusing on some of the most pressing concerns facing cemetery custodians. Published in pamphlet format, these field guides are easy to read and very informative. They offer basic information on a wide range of subjects in what is, after all, a relatively new field.

Some of the more popular titles in the series include: #1: Analyzing Cemetery Data; #3: Guide to Forming a Cemetery Friends Organization; #4: Cleaning Masonry Burial Monuments; #7: Making Photographic Records of Gravestones; #12: The Care of Old Cemeteries and Gravestones; #14: How to Create a Base; #15: Recommendations for the Care of Gravestones; #16: What do you do When you Find a "Lost" Gravestone?; and #17: Recording Cemetery Data. There are many other titles, as well.
The AGS Field Guide Series is available from the Association of Gravestone Studies (AGS).
