Laurentian Rest was one of several large boarding houses on Main Street in Morin Heights in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.
In the first tourist era of regular train service, many people came to Morin Heights for the weekends, and generally stayed in one of the dozen or so boarding houses in the village.
These have all now disappeared.
Most boarding houses were known for their fine meals. Over the years, owners changed and the same boarding house was known by different names.
