The Colby-Curtis Museum and Stanstead Historical Society Archives are housed in an imposing granite house built in 1859 by the Colbys, a prominent local family of American descent. Permanent displays relate to the lifestyle of the house’s former occupants, while temporary exhibits pertain to regional history.

As a way of exploring the rich history of the granite industry along the border area of the Eastern Townships, the historical society’s photographic archives and oral history collection have been combined into short documentaries.
