The coveted Richard Evans Award was presented today by QAHN's president (Grant Myers) and executive director (Matthew Farfan) during a special ceremony at Sherbrooke's Marché de la gare. Ron Foss of Fossmobile Enterprises was on hand to accept the award, and said he was extremely honoured with the recognition of his family's efforts.
In his remarks, QAHN ED Matthew Farfan said that "the construction of this remarkable Fossmobile re-creation is a great tribute to Ron's grandfather, Sherbrooke resident George Foote Foss, and to the important legacy of his achievement: the construction in 1897 of Canada's very first gasoline-powered car. QAHN salutes that legacy and the work being done to honour it."
