2011-2012 Project:
InHerit was developed to support innovation and cooperation among students, educators and the volunteer heritage sector. The project aims to strengthen links between schools and community groups by enabling young people to participate in learning projects that contribute to local history and heritage awareness.
As part of InHerit, QAHN is holding workshops in various regions of the province to bring together educators, community leaders and volunteers, in the hope of inspiring cooperation among these groups in the development of youth-related volunteer projects relating to Quebec heritage.
In May 2012, in conjunction with its AGM, QAHN will be holding its Young Leaders Heritage Fair. This event, which will take place in St. Lambert, Quebec, will showcase some of the youth projects inspired by InHerit. Also at its AGM, QAHN will be inaugurating its new InHerit Awards. These awards will recognize volunteerism among youth in the heritage field.
