The Lowrys were a very musical family, with fiddlers, piano players, harmonica players, and accordionists among them. Before the Lowry family, Mr and Mrs. Henry Winslow lived in the house. Mrs. Winslow was a wonderful cook and was known as the 'woman who cooked for her own funeral' because the day before her sudden death she had made a large number of pies, cakes, cookies and rolls. Her mourners enjoyed her cooking one last time at the lunch served after her burial. (Photo - CCHMS)
