QAHN is pleased to announce that we have been approved for three years’ worth of funding from the Government of Quebec’s Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d'expression anglaise (SRQEA).
The name of the new program is “Mentorat, aide et formation en patrimoine Communautaire 2023-2026,” or (in English) “Mentorship Assistance and Training for Community Heritage (MATCH).”
According to QAHN executive director Matthew Farfan, “this project is all about providing training and mentorship to heritage groups traditionally connected with Quebec’s English-speaking community – the historical societies, museums, archives, and other community-based heritage organizations that make up our heritage network.”
The types of training may vary widely. It could be in areas as diverse as policy-writing, conservation techniques, exhibition design, recruiting volunteers, communications and marketing, digital programming, oral history techniques, the ins and outs of accreditation, and so on. “Basically whatever area is in demand, we will try to find the trainers to meet that need.”
