The Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network (QAHN) is ready to announce the three winners of its 2026 volunteer recognition awards! Two of these annual awards are presented to an individual or to a group or organization in recognition of their volunteer long-term contributions to the preservation and promotion of Anglophone heritage in the province of Quebec. The third award, launched in 2025 for the network's 25th anniversary, recognizes and celebrates a young volunteer and their outstanding contribution to the preservation and promotion of Anglophone heritage in the province of Quebec.

2026 Marion Phelps Award Winner
QAHN has chosen Sheila Achtell as this year’s recipient of the Marion Phelps Award, which recognizes the contributions of an individual volunteer. Sheila is a longtime volunteer with the Mulgrave & Derry Historical Society in Western Quebec. From serving on the historical society's board for years, to her consistent engagement on heritage projects, to gathering insights on the newcomers who built the community, their contributions to their war service, and much more, Sheila has been at the centre of the Mulgrave & Derry Historical Society since its outset.

2026 Richard Evans Award Winner
QAHN has chosen the Baie-des-Chaleurs Military Museum, in New Richmond, Quebec, as this year’s recipient of the Richard Evans Award, which recognizes the contribution of a group of volunteers or organization. This Gaspesian museum, located in the former United Church from Oak Bay, showcases the region's strong military tradition. Since 1995, the mission of this museum has been fulfilled thanks to the help of dozens of volunteers.

2026 Young Volunteer Award Winner
QAHN has chosen Massimo Di Silvestro as this year’s recipient of the Young Volunteer Award, which recognizes the contribution of an individual volunteeer aged 16 to 30. Massimo’s volunteer contribution stands out in his guided tours and engagement with visitors at the Vimy Foundation’s Canadian Centre for the Great War.
