QAHN’s long-running Heritage Essay Contest for elementary school students and Heritage Photo Contest for high school students concluded at the end of April 2025. Students from 4 elementary schools (Shawinigan; Riverview; Netagamiou; and Gardenview) and 5 high schools (Vincent Massey; Rosemere; Massey-Vanier; New Richmond; and Marymount) located in five regions of the province participated in these activities during this, QAHN’s 25th anniversary year.

The winners were presented with awards in June (certificates and prize money for the top 3 in each contest; certificates for the runners-up). All winning submissions will be published in the Fall 2025 edition of Quebec Heritage News, QAHN’s quarterly magazine.

The 1st Prize winner in this year’s Heritage Photo Contest was Saia Wallis, a student at Marymount Academy in Montreal. The title of Saia's photo, pictured above, is "Rooted in Heritage."

2nd Prize in the Photo Contest went to Kendra Angel Jerome (New Richmond High School), while 3rd Prize was awarded to Annette Lecouffe (Rosemere High School). Honourable Mention went to Karishma Wagner-Vanamala (Vincent Massey Collegiate).
